C3: Khongor Dunes at Sunset
The Khongor Sand Dunes, or “Singing Dunes,” are among Mongolia’s largest, with peaks over 200 meters high. The name comes from the sound made when wind moves the sand, creating a “singing” resonance. This area is famous for its spectacular golden hues at sunrise and sunset and diverse wildlife including antelopes, mountain goats, and even elusive snow leopards.
