1./ GENERAL INTRODUCTION

Ha Pho, located in Ningde City, northeastern Fujian Province, boasts one of the longest coastlines in Fujian and is home to some of the most iconic tidal flat landscapes in China. Each tidal flat in Ha Pho is embraced by three surrounding mountain ranges, forming breathtaking natural scenery with striking patterns and colors.

The shifting tides through the four seasons, combined with the interplay of light, clouds, and fishermen’s activities, create an ever-changing seascape unlike anywhere else. The best time for photography is during the days around the 1st and 15th of the lunar month, when the tides are most favorable.

Join FirstClass Photography Tour for “Ha Pho – Twilight by the Shore” to capture the essence of seaweed harvest season and the mesmerizing tidal flats — a true paradise for photographers.

DAY 1 – 08/06: ARRIVAL DAY

Arrive at Wenzhou Longwan International Airport.
Local guide and vehicle will pick up the group and transfer to the hotel in Ha Pho (approx. 2.5 hours drive).

DAY 2 – 09/06: HUA ZHU VILLAGE – YANG JIA XI – SHIPYARD / XIAO HAO TIDAL FLATS – DONG BI (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)

04:00 – Early departure to Hua Zhu Village for sunrise (approx. 1h drive).

Recognized by China Photography Network and Beijing Henghua Cultural Media, Hua Zhu is one of China’s most stunning nearshore sunrise tidal flats. Unlike other sunrises in Ha Pho, the light here glows like a golden moon, soft and mysterious, revealing the distant Fudao Islands that drift in and out of the mist — like a shy oriental maiden veiled in morning haze.

Many photographers camp overnight here, awaiting the dawn to capture the most enchanting scenes, making Hua Zhu a true sacred ground for landscape photographers.

After breakfast, travel to Yang Jia Xi, a national 3A scenic spot (approx. 1h drive).
This area features magnificent waterfalls, ancient trees, clear streams, and historical relics like temples, old bridges, and stone carvings from past dynasties. During autumn, golden rice fields and flaming maple trees create a painterly palette — a haven for photographers.

Ha Pho’s classic creative themes such as “the old farmer leading his buffalo” or “a village girl herding ducks” can also be photographed here.

14:30 – Transfer to the local shipyard to photograph scenes of fishermen repairing and painting boats — a hallmark of Ha Pho’s coastal life. (Approx. 1h drive.)

Each off-season, female workers are busy sanding and repainting fishing boats under the blazing sun — a striking symbol of strength and beauty.

Alternatively, visit the Xiao Hao tidal flats, a top sunset photography location. When the sun sets, golden light floods the flats, turning the sand lines into flowing silk ribbons of silver and gold. Local models carry te nets and vibrant green fishing nets that shimmer in the sunset.

Continue to Ban Yue Village, a heritage town ideal for lifestyle and cultural photography.
Shoot creative scenes such as traditional weaving, herbal drying, market scenes, and local martial arts performances.
